Infertility trauma: It’s just you doing your best trying to process these complex emotions. It’s normal to be in a state of anxiety after a failed cycle or loss. Your body is in shock. You are trying to process still. In this state we often shut down and feel anxious and then we get angry. We can lose our temper and act irrational. We don’t feel safe but we don’t know how to articulate this to those around us... It can leave you feeling alone and guilty for feeling like this. You get caught in a vicious cycle... ♥️ Chiemi

No one should ever feel like they aren't trying hard enough to be happy or be more positive. The truth is we ask people to be vulnerable but when they do we tell them they should feel better. We judge how well they’re coping. We encourage them to 'heal faster' and 'be stronger'. We deny them of what they truly need, which is adjusting to life with all these hard, complex, painful emotions not try to simply get over them. No one gets over it, they simply learn how to live through it. There’s no magic wand in counselling but there are tools! There is feeling supported by someone who understands and validates. There are always techniques to reframe the narrative so together we work through the moments when you feel stuck in the pain and confusion. No one should have to navigate those moments alone...if you are feeling like you need some support just for YOU, I’d love to help. ♥️ Chiemi

When people seem quiet and off the grid a bit it can be for so many reasons. Most of the time is has absolutely nothing to do with you. Everyone we know is healing, dealing and processing their own hard life stuff. Give them space. Be gentle when they need you the most. Don’t judge when they share with you. Just listen. Just reach out once in awhile and remind them you are still here. Remind them they are loved and thought about often. Cheer them on from a far. Reassure them it’s ok to not be ok. Reassure them no matter what you’ll always be there. Limit your expectations of what they can give you right now, because they are in survival mode and because ‘this is trauma.’ Don’t expect them to just bounce back and get over it. Help them get through it...❤️ Chiemi

Triggers are healthy, emotional & physical reactions. They don’t make you a bad person. They have nothing to do with being weak or jealous. They are your body's way of processing people, places and things that remind you of your pain trauma. There is no shame in reacting to them. Let them simply be a reminder that you need to be extra gentle on yourself. ♥️ Chiemi #mentalhealthtips

The truth is the isolation felt by women is almost as painful as the experience of infertility itself. Friends and family don't know what to say/do 'to make it better.' The truth is you can’t fix it, but you can listen to someone so they feel less alone. That requires only loving intention, a willingness to feel vulnerable and an open heart. It’s the one true gift that can make a difference. It’s why I started my private practice, specializing in infertility trauma and loss and it’s the space I choose to hold daily, just for you...
